A Blog About a Bond... a Sister Bond - Abby
Many of you out there may not know what I am about to reveal. I have to admit, it is a little strange. On this beautiful planet we call Earth there is someone out there walking around with the exact same features as me. She has the same color hair, eyes, nose, chin, cheeks, and freckles as I do. She goes by the name “Liz” and she is my identical twin sister.
Yes, that’s right, I have another person on this earth that I could send to my job instead of me and no one would know! I am completely kidding, I would never do that because she is not a “kid” person, if you know what I mean. Again, I’m kidding. She loves kids, but only for short periods of time. Wow, if she reads this she is either going to say I hit the nail on the head and laugh, or I’m in big trouble. When you grow up with someone who looks exactly like you, you tend to get asked a lot of the same questions over and over again. “Do you share clothes?”. "Do you want to marry identical twins?”. My favorite is, “Can you read each other’s mind?”. We both always reply to that last question with, “Of course we can”. Growing up we had a lot of the same friends. We played the same sports and we both did horrible in every math class we ever took. We argued with each other a lot during our childhood, and to this day we still have our spouts. Sisters can be brutal. Imagine having a twin who knows exactly what you’re thinking!
I have recently been having some conversations with my peers about their children and their siblings. Some are worried that they fight with each other a lot. Some are worried about how too dependent one may be on the other. In my opinion, as long as siblings love each other then everything will work out. My sister Liz is truly one of the most hard working, caring, smart people I know. We have a bond that is unbreakable. We are there for each other in ways only sisters can be. And to think that our mom only wanted one more kid and she got twins instead! How lucky was she!? My sister and I realized we are the lucky ones. We grew up with a best friend everyday.
